Nobody's Sons

This started out as cracky fanart based on a Supernatural fanfic I wrote [link] to amuse myself and Allyoops. But along the creation process, it became something else. I'm not sure what to say about the meaning, because every time I look at it, I think of another explanation.

Mostly I see it as the hero and his shadow twin compelled to acknowledge each other in their common quest, ending with one consuming the other for the balance to finish. They're like The Lovers from Tarot, where one cannot see the angel and must rely on the other to see it and guide them both. The choices you make with what you have in your hands, being the root of your own tree and nobody's sons.
